iLife V7S Pro Review

By taking a closer look at the world around us we can definitely conclude that the process of automatization is slowly taking over everything. What do we mean by this? Take for example the products that we use on a daily basis. The main focus is to make them as functional as possible and to reduce the user’s involvement in their usage.

Vacuum cleaners seem to be one of those ever-evolving products. No one wants to come back home after a long day at work and vacuum their floor. The process is often boring and eats up a lot of time. That’s why various companies are trying to automate the whole process. As a result, we have robotic vacuum cleaners.

These robotic vacuum cleaners often come at unreasonable prices which is what puts off most people. It’s only until recently that a couple of extremely affordable products appeared on the market. One of them is iLife V7S Pro. In this review, we’ll go into details about this unit and tell you whether it’s worth something or not.

The Design

The design of the unit is pretty straightforward and minimalistic (in our humble opinion). It comes only in one color – Rose Gold. The reason behind that might be that the company presumed that most of their customers are females. However, we can’t be entirely sure, so we’ll leave that to your judgment.

The unit has a circular shape and sports a single ‘clean’ button on top. There’s an option to charge the robot cleaner by plugging in the power adapter on the side. That’s an alternative way of charging it. We normally use the charging dock that comes with it. However, it’s a good thing to have another method of doing it in case something happens to the dock.

If you take a closer look right under the charging port, you’ll see an on/off switch that you can use to actually turn on the cleaner. Furthermore, the bottom part of the unit can be split into two sections. The first one houses all the available parts for maneuvering the unit. The second one has the cleaning parts such as the suction motor and a sweeping brush.

In addition, there’s a set of sturdy wheels on the bottom part of the unit which help it move (obviously). As you can see, the design is nothing out of this world. However, we think that this minimalistic approach fits the unit well. Since we got that out of the way, let’s move on to the cleaner’s features.

Features

Even though the design of the unit seems simple enough, it packs a lot when it comes to its features. Let’s take a look.

Cleaning Modes

iLife V7S Pro has three available cleaning modes: Edge CleaningAuto Cleaning, and Scheduled Cleaning. We tested each of these modes and we have to admit that the results were pleasing. For example, the air intake is quite sufficient to suck in anything under the unit.

Moreover, the sweeping brush picks up anything that the suction vent misses and throws it in its way. However, we noticed that only one side of the brush throws the dust, crumbles, debris, etc. in the suctioning path.

Battery Life

To be honest, we didn’t expect much from the batteries as we know that these robot cleaners often use low-quality batteries. However, this one seems to be working alright. It’s nothing special, but it will last long enough for the unit to do its job. The charging takes less than 5 hours and the cleaner can work up to 170 minutes.

Water and Dust Tanks

The unit has two available functions – mopping and cleaning. Therefore, it has two available tanks as well. One’s for water and the other for dust. Both tanks can hold around 300 ml (or 10 oz), which is quite sufficient.

The water tank allows you to mount the mop tray on the robot. This is a feature that most units that use standard dust recipient lack.

Filtration System

When it comes to filtration, there’s really not that much to say. It’s a standard filtration system that most robot cleaning units have. This unit has a double filter mounted on top of it and it performs quite well as far as the dust collection goes. It’s not the best possible filter out there, but it does the job.

Special Features

In addition to everything that we’ve mentioned so far, the cleaner has some additional features. You also have access to LCD remote control and drip feed electronic control for wet mopping. It’s not much, but it helps the unit stand out from its competitors.

The final thing to do here is to look at the performance of the unit. A unit can be loaded with features but if it’s not utilizing them well, what’s the point? We’ve performed numerous tests on the unit to test its actual functionality. Here’s how iLife V7S Pro did.

Performance

In order to determine the overall quality of its performance, we’ve split the testing of the unit into two relevant sections. First of all, we tested the dry cleaning and then we moved on to the wet mapping performance.

Dry Cleaning Performance

Considering that the iLife V7S Pro dust box has two available filter layers, we knew that the results would be good. We scattered strands of hair, bread crumbles, dust, and all sorts of powder on the floor. Afterward, we ran the cleaner for about an hour and it was more than enough for it to do the job. There were maybe some traces along the corners of the room where the robot couldn’t reach. However, we think that’s quite acceptable.

Wet Mopping Performance

Wet mopping feature was done rather masterfully, we have to admit. It’s quite simple to use and we didn’t have any problems with it. The only thing that you need to do is to velcro the cloth to the base of the mop and attach it to the cleaner. You’ll have to add 300 ml of water into the water tank as well.

The cleaning efficiency was optimal and satisfactory. However, our advice is to dry clean first, and wet mop later. For the best possible result, it’s a good idea to combine these two features.

Wrap Up

All in all, iLife V7S Pro is a solid unit. If you’re looking for a robot cleaner for a space that’s less than 2000 sq ft. then this might be a good choice. We’d also like to mention that the review was based on our opinion and expectations about the product. If there’s something that we liked or didn’t like, that doesn’t mean that you’ll agree with us. Regardless, we hope that the review was helpful!
