Cordless Bagless Vacuum Cleaners
Tineco A10
About the Tineco A10
TINECO is a Chinese brand that has expanded worldwide and specializes in vacuums and other home cleaning solutions.
The Tineco A10 is not their most recent release when it comes to handheld, light-weight stick vacuums. For that, you will want to look at the Tineco A11.
The reason we decided to review the A10 model is because the A10 operates at a comparable level to the A11, although at a much more affordable price. Although, we also seriously recommend the A11, which does everything the A10 does, just better.
The Tineco comes with many different attachments and accessories as seen above.
We particularly like the inclusion of an extra battery, the storehouse for the vacuum, batteries and accessories. and the many different useful features that the device has.
It also easily converts to a handheld device, useful for upholstery, stairs, and other hard-to-reach places.
The charger has a duo battery dual-pin adapter, meaning you can charge both the batteries simultaneously, even if one of the batteries is still attached to the unit!
It also includes a continuous power switch lock that other handheld models do not, meaning you aren’t forced to hold down the operation button to use the device.
We also liked the easy-to-empty dustbin and lights on each attachment head which provides extra visibility while cleaning.
The vacuum is advertised as effective on all floor types and we agreed that cleaning performance was satisfactory overall.
Our Input
The Tineco A10 is a great handheld, light-weight vacuum that comes with a bunch of useful features and accessories.
One issue with the machine was that for a vacuum advertised to have “quiet” operation, we found the vacuum to actually be quite loud, though most handhelds are often loud due to the tight housing of all the mechanical pieces.
Additionally, the battery life per battery is pretty bad, although that is offset by the inclusion of a second battery.
Cleaning is quite easy, though not as easy as the Dyson V8 to come.
Overall, the Tineco A10 is a decent little vacuum. At a very competitive price point to the Dyson V-series of handheld vacuums, it offers just about the same value.
Dyson V8
About the Dyson V8
Dyson is world renowned as one of the very best vacuum producers, and it seems every product they roll out is better than the last.
Similar to what we’ve done with the Tineco A10, we will be looking at the Dyson V8, rather than the new V10, as we believe the newer generation of handheld vacuums is a little overpriced, and the prior generation (A10 and V8) offers more value to the consumer.
That does not mean the V10 is a bad machine, on the contrary it is an improvement on the V8, so if budget is not an issue, check out the V10 here.
The Dyson V8 is widely considered to be the best handheld vacuum on the market, and when it comes down to straight cleaning performance, utility, and overall design, that is probably true.
The Tineco A10 is a good machine at a great price, and the Dyson V8 is just a great machine.
It makes cleaning fun and offers tons of utility and function that you never even knew you needed from your vacuum.
The Dyson looks like a premium vacuum, and quickly converts to a handheld unit, similar to the Tineco.
It includes 7 extremely useful accessories, such as:
Soft roller cleaner head, direct drive cleaner head, mini motorized tool, mini soft dusting brush, combination tool (brush and wide nozzle), crevice tool, and a docking station.
These different tools make cleaning any area, or any surface, possible.
The docking station we especially loved, as it provides a convenient, wall-mounted dock to store (and charge) the vacuum and accessories.
The cleaning performance also exceeded our expectations for a handheld battery-operated unit.
See the below video for a full look at all the V8 offers.
It is hard to find a flaw with any vacuum that Dyson makes. Perhaps, if anything, their price can be quite restrictive for most people?
Or maybe that the V8 is advertised as having up to 40 minutes of battery life, but it can often fall short of that?
Again, these are hardly major issues.
We found the noise level to be similar to the Tineco, and it can be nearly impossible to hear music or a TV over the machine, especially when running in MAX mode.
It is also very easy to clean and maintain.
Overall, the Dyson V8 is almost a perfect handheld vacuum.
It is lightweight, powerful, and useful in all sorts of cleaning situations.
The only major flaw is the price, which only gets higher if you wish to buy the new and improved Dyson V10.
Cordless Bagless Vacuums Conclusion
There are other handheld and lightweight options out there, such as the Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Corded Bagless Vacuum which is an alternative for those that want a lightweight option that doesn’t need to charge.
However, we couldn’t find any serious competition for the Tineco A10 (or A11), or the Dyson V8 (or V10).
If you are looking for a lightweight, easy storage, super-portable vacuum, then we would recommend one of the two listed above.
Below is a super in-depth review comparing the first two vacuums on this list but keep reading for our reviews of the best Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaners out there.
We consider the Bissell Cleanview to be the overall best vacuum under $100.
The Bissell Cleanview Swivel Rewind is an even more advanced version of that vacuum, at only a marginally higher price.
Furthermore, the Bissell Cleanview has great features that makes the machine a better option for large-scale home cleaning than small handheld options listed above.
Some of those features include triple action brush roll, edge-to-edge cleaning, and scatter-free technology
These features ensure that whatever the mess, the Bissell will leave your floors much cleaner.
We were impressed with the general cleaning performance of the Bissell Cleanview Swivel Rewind, and found it delivered better than the previously reviewed cheaper model, the Bissell Cleanview.
In addition to delivering a better-than-expected clean, the Bissell Cleanview was also a pleasure to use. With its lightweight frame and swivel maneuverability the Bissell Cleanview Swivel Rewind can comfortably clean even the toughest spots in your home.
We should also mention that the Bissell Cleanview Swivel Rewind comes with 5 tools/attachments that are especially helpful for tackling pet hair and small-area messes, such as any dirty upholstery.
Finally, the ability to control most of the vacuums functions (Floor attachment height, auto-cord retraction, power level) with foot-accessible pedals is a really nice feature.
Our Input
At a very affordable price point, the Bissell Cleanview Swivel Rewind provides a good to above average clean and offers all the basic utility and functionality that one expects from a modern vacuum. It is a good affordable vacuum.
It doesn’t have an abundance of features, and its cleaning performance, while good, will not blow you away.
Overall, the Bissell Cleanview Swivel Rewind is a great budget pick, but continue reading for some of our absolute favourite vacuums.
About the SharkNinja Navigator
The SharkNinja Navigator Lift-Away Professional is the type of machine that makes most buyers think “How has this not been done this well before?”
The SharkNinja Navigator Lift-Away Professional gives you the heavy-duty cleaning of a traditional upright vacuum, and the portability and utility of a smaller handheld unit.
For a price that doesn’t much exceed many of the other listed units (and in some cases it costs less) the SharkNinja Navigator gives every homeowner a one-size-fits-all solution to home cleaning.
Coming equipped with the ability to click a single button and pull the canister away for tackling smaller cleaning jobs, the SharkNinja Navigator is by far the most useful vacuum we’ve looked at.
There is a brush roll shut-off which allows for deep carpet or bare floor cleaning, and at both it provides a good to great cleaning performance.
It has the same swivel system that we’ve come to expect in all upright vacuums, making cleaning feel less like a workout.
It also comes with a Hard Floor Hero attachment, a pet power brush, a dusting brush, and a crevice tool.
We found that the SharkNinja’s cleaning was the best of any vacuum except the Dyson, and it was the best vacuum for tackling tight nooks and crannies, stairs, shelves and cabinetry, and more.
Check out the video below for more info:
The SharkNinja Navigator is one of our favourite vacuums out there. When it works, it works really well.
We should caution that many online buyers warn about difficult customer support when their machine wasn’t operating correctly.
This can be worrisome, as vacuums can sometimes have issues, and to not have certain parts covered by warranty, or to not have useful customer support, can be enough to turn a buyer away from a brand.
We would recommend buying with caution, but also must reinforce that when the vacuum works, it works spectacularly.
Finally, the SharkNinja offers some of the best cleaning and suction potential of any vacuum out there, and its overall utility is unmatched.
This is a great vacuum, and our pick for the best value vacuum out there.
Dyson Ball Complete Upright
About the Dyson Ball
This list has covered some of the best vacuums on the market, but it wouldn’t be complete until we touched on the industry-defining Dyson Ball.
The Dyson Ball, in all of its variations, is almost universally considered the best vacuum one can buy, and that means it isn’t going to be cheap.
In fact, it is just about the most expensive vacuum on the market.
And although it is expensive, the Dyson Ball is worth every penny.
Just to start, the Dyson Ball comes with 7 different attachments, as seen above, including:
Soft Dusting Brush
Combination Tool
Stair Tool
Stiff Bristle Brush
Multi-angle Tool
Hard Floor Tool
Tangle Free Turbine Tool
These different attachments make the Dyson Ball a true one-stop-shop when it comes to home cleaning. Basically, any surface or area that requires cleaning can be tackled.
If that wasn’t enough, the swivel technology of the ball roller surpasses pretty much every other vacuum’s maneuverability.
And the wand attachment for the Dyson Ball is the most versatile and useful of any vacuum we’ve seen.
The canister is easy to empty, and in general everything about this vacuum just makes sense.
It isn’t overly complicated, it doesn’t work sometimes and struggle others, it’s just reliable.
When it comes to cleaning performance, we couldn’t find anything that seemed to provide such a deep and powerful clean (on as many surfaces) as the Dyson Ball.
Our Input
The Dyson Ball is by far the best bagless vacuum on the market.
It is very expensive, but it still seems worth the investment. This is the kind of machine that when you use it once, you’ll wonder why you ever tried anything else.
In our opinion it is also easily the best-looking vacuum on the market, and also the one that was the most user-friendly.
We really couldn’t find any flaws with the Dyson Ball. It’s that good.
It is expensive, and that can be a restriction to a lot of people, but if you can afford to fit the Dyson Ball into your budget, then we highly recommend you do so.
Conclusion
In conclusion, we’ve reviewed some of the best bagless vacuums on the market, both handheld and upright.
In the handheld vacuum market the Tineco A10 provided some great features and performance at a more affordable price range than Dyson’s line of handheld bagless vacuums, and won our pick for “Best Handheld Bagless Vacuum”.
In the upright bagless vacuum section we reviewed the three best, and most popular, vacuums out there.
In the search for the very best we narrowed our options down to these 3 machines, and each vacuum is actually quite good in its own right.
However, we settled on the Dyson Ball as the “Best Overall”, and the SharkNinja Navigator as our “Best Value” picks.
If you can fit the Dyson Ball into your budget it wins our complete recommendation, as it surpasses every other vacuum we looked at, in basically every category.
But for those not willing to break the bank for their vacuum, the SharkNinja Navigator is a high-value vacuum that can definitely serve most of your cleaning needs!
